Have you ever felt the need to help someone and given them support, but those same people never seem to return the favor? Many people deal with this everyday because everyone is in a constant state of need while no one’s ever there in return.

Mentally and physically helping someone is an amazing feeling, but having no one ever there for you hurts a little. Why do we help others when we know that no one will be there for us?

Desert Oasis High School student, Sabrina Shultz, says, “I help others but it depends with what topic I’m helping them out with.” Sabrina also explains she’ll always help someone when they need her even if she doesn’t ever get help in return. She’s just that kind of special person who is willing to help regardless of the situation. Some people just have different opinions on helping others, even if they don’t help you.

In these opinion pieces, I tend to give a lot of advice to everyone. I’m there for them no matter what even when at my busiest times. I pride myself on helping people when they need assistance, but not receiving that same help is difficult to process and understand.

Offering help to every other person in my life makes me feel accomplished. I write poetry and most people can relate to my words and daily thoughts, but it’d be great if others would be helpful and be there when I need them.

I’ll always put others before my own needs. I’ve grown up being raised on the ideals of helping regardless of circumstances. I’ll help you when you’re in need of a shoulder to cry on or a ear to hear you out.
