Trying to balance working and going to school at the same time can be challenging . But some teens must step up and help their parents out .

“At first it was challenging , but I’ve gotten used to it now”, said Erika Gonzales. Throughout daily life many people have to face hard times. We face challenges but we pull through them and continue on living.

The families that struggle tend to need the most help . In order to overcome the struggle, usually the teenagers apply for part-time or full time jobs.

“I have a job because I don’t want my mom to go through so much stress with bills”, Gonzales said . With a busy schedule teens tend to be exhausted and need more rest, homework only adds to the plate.

Some teens want to work at a certain job but they can’t. Typically jobs have age requirements for their company. The age is usually 18 or older , but at some fast food chains employees can be 16 or older.

“ I wanted to work in the fashion industry but do to my age , most companies didn’t want to hire me” , said Gonzales. I guess you can say that’s the one thing that sucks about trying to get a job. Having experience helps a lot more , than not having experience.

You might think you know someone but behind closed doors you never really know what’s going. If you know someone that is working , make sure you remind them that they’re strong. Never judge a book by its cover, because everyone has their own struggles that are going through.
