Last Thursday varsity boys soccer won their first ever playoff game. The score was 2-1 against Silverado High School.

“It was crazy for the playoffs,” said sophomore Luke Valenti, “[Desert Oasis] has never won a playoff game before, so we were making history.”

Both goals were scored by junior Justin Webster, one in the first half and one in the second. The first goal was scored early in the game with a left foot shot. The second was a header near the end of the game.

“I’m confident, but nervous [going into the next game]. I’m confident because I have trust in our team, and I know that if we play our game we will come through with the win. It’s going to require all of hearts to win though because [Bishop Gorman] is really talented,” Valenti said.

The team plays Bishop Gorman Tuesday at 4:00 in the quarterfinals at Bettye Wilson.
