This past Tuesday boys varsity soccer suffered a loss against Bishop Gorman, eliminating them out of the playoffs. The team left it all on the field, including their tears.

“It was a very emotional moment for the entire team. That game was the last for many seniors, and I believe that was a major factor in why it was so important,” sophomore, Center Mid and Winger, Luke Valenti said, “It was a very hard loss.”

The score was 3-0. The first twenty minutes was came across difficult for the team. Bishop Gorman scored their first goal with five minutes left in the first half.

“[When the first half ended] we felt very energized and excited because we thought we were going to come back,” Valenti commented.

In the second half despite their hopeful attitude, Desert Oasis did not score…and Bishop Gorman scored two more goals. However, despite the tough loss, Valenti stated,

“It was the biggest crowd we’ve seen at any game. The support they gave was tremendous.”

Although this season has ended with a loss, the team is looking forward to next season for another chance to win the playoffs.
