World of Dance

Seryne Aguila a captain on the Desert Oasis varsity dance team is also a part of an outside dance group called High Profile. Saturday, December 7th they competed against other dance crews in a competition called World of Dance. They took second place in the adult division but she is still very happy with their outcome.

“We’ve been preparing for over a week and we would have practices till 12 a.m. or longer,” Seryne said.”It was really nerve racking and once we were about to go on stage we had so much adrenaline, we were hyped.”

Remy Seumalu, an alumni of the Desert Oasis dance team,  is a director for both the D.O. dance team and High Profile dance studio. It is remarkable to see a “retired” captain of a high school dance team go on to become a director of several dance crews.
