The Lady Diamondbacks suffered a tough loss to rival Spring Valley, on January 7 63-66. With a back and forth game in the fourth quarter, Spring Valley player Aaliyah Gayles scored with five seconds left after Eliyjah Pricebooks made a bank shot for the Diamondbacks to go up two. Even though Spring Valley was held to only one field goal in the overtime period, they were able to hold off D.O.

“The loss was bad. We competed, but didn’t play 100% to our potential. It was a hard loss, but we are coming back stronger,” Said Eliyjah Pricebooks.

Isabella Jaramillo led the team with 18 points, and Desi-Rae Young added 16 points.

With this loss for the lady D-Backs, their seeding in the south west conference has dropped to 4th place, and the win for Spring Valley pushes them to first.
